2. Purpose of the Platform
SciLit is a free e-learning platform designed to develop critical thinking skills, media literacy and awareness of human rights. In the partner countries, it's open to people aged 14 and over, except in Slovenia, where the minimum age is 15. If you register from another country, the minimum age is the one set by your national law. By creating an account, you confirm that you've reached this age.
3. Intellectual Property
Original content on SciLit (modules, texts, illustrations, animations) is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0), unless otherwise stated. Third-party content is used under fair use or with permission.
4. User Accounts
Registration is free. To create an account, you give your first name, surname and email address, and say whether you're taking part as a young person or as a youth worker. Please use your real first name and surname: SciLit is co-funded by the European Union through Erasmus+ and has to be able to show who took part in the project. You agree not to share your login details. You can delete your account at any time from the Settings page; the privacy policy explains what we have to keep after that, and for how long.
Email notifications about new modules and content are optional. They only start once you click the link in the confirmation email we send you, and you can turn them off at any time without affecting your account.
5. User-Generated Content
Users may post discussions and comments. Content that is illegal, hateful, defamatory, or otherwise inappropriate will be moderated. By posting, you grant SciLit a non-exclusive right to display your content on the platform.
6. Community Guidelines
- Be respectful and constructive
- No hate speech, harassment, or discrimination
- No spam or commercial content
- No sharing of personal information of others
- No misinformation presented as fact
7. Limitation of Liability
SciLit is provided “as is” for educational purposes. We strive for accuracy but can't guarantee that all content is error-free. The platform isn't a substitute for professional advice.
8. Applicable Law
These terms are governed by French law. Any dispute shall be submitted to the competent courts of France.
