How we use AI on this platform
Parts of this platform were created with AI tools, including illustrations, animations, interactive exercises, draft texts and translations. All content was reviewed and approved by the project staff, who take full editorial responsibility for it. While we strive for accuracy, we encourage readers to verify important information.
SciLit.eu teaches critical thinking and media literacy, so we hold ourselves to the same standard we ask of our learners: be transparent about your methods.
What we used AI for
- Visual materials. The SVG animations and illustrations across the modules were produced with AI-assisted design tools, then edited and adapted by the project partners.
- Interactive exercises. The mini-games and interactive activities were developed with AI assistance for code and content generation, then tested and corrected by the partners.
- Text and content. AI tools were used to research and synthesise source material, and to draft, edit and improve the readability of parts of the module texts.
- Case studies and examples. AI tools were used to help identify case studies and examples. The selection, verification and sourcing of everything published were done by the project partners.
- Translation. The platform's language versions were produced with AI-assisted translation, then reviewed by project partners.
Tools used: large language models, namely Claude (Anthropic) and open models run locally with Ollama, plus AI image-generation tools.
What AI didn't do
- AI didn't determine the scientific or factual content of the modules. The learning objectives, the pedagogical structure and the sources were set by the project partners and their subject-matter experts, and every factual claim was verified against its source before publication. AI isn't an author of this material, and it can't hold responsibility for it. We do.
- The animation narration is voiced by members of the project team, not synthesised.
Human review
All module content was reviewed, fact-checked and approved by the project team before publication. The project partners take full editorial responsibility for everything published here.
The platform's language versions were produced with AI-assisted translation and reviewed by the partner organisations. If you spot a translation error or an inconsistency between language versions, please write to us at contact@scilit.eu so we can correct it.
